Just a brief note as we all prepare to celebrate the holidays.

I reported last week that version 3 is under development and included a
list of features we can expect to find. If you have not yet seen the
report, go here to get the details.

We have a Christmas present for everybody: the initial release of VCG
Tools. This is a DLL file that has a slew of tools that hopefully will
increase your productivity. In addition to a bunch of toggles to turn
on/off everything from hatches to linetypes to dimension extension lines,
there are some slick routines for putting leaders, hatches and fills on
their own separate layers. Enjoy, and please let us know what other tools
you'd like to have. VCG Tools will grow throughout the coming year, based
on your input. Many thanks to Michael Johnson for a yeoman's effort.

Members can expect a newsletter shortly after the new year, with exciting
articles on, among others, Virtual Hatches and on using Custom Commands to
place and manage Symbols on your Menus. Many thanks to our authors; you
know who you are.

Thanks also to each of you that have been so helpful this past year in
keeping this all volunteer organization alive and kicking: Judi for
shepherding us through, Noel and Bob for sharing the load, Michael and Jeff
and David for the programming, Glenn and Rick and Jeff B. and many many
others who have lent their expertise, monetary support and spirit.

If I've not mentioned your name, please forgive. The website is free, and
we gladly share our collective talents with all who use Visual CADD. But
let's not forget that it is our members who keep this going, and to each of
you I give my deepest thanks.

I look forward to a great 1998 with you all. May your holidays be the best.
