Love that MouseMan+ scroll wheel!
by Ron Hutter  11/20/97

For two weeks I have been using the Logitech First Mouse+ (3 butons with
scroll wheel, $30). Running under Logitech Mouseware v7.5, it works great
in both Win95 and Generic Cadd (config LOGITECH-MOUSE.COM loaded). Tho it
is small, it is a very comfortable mouse to use.

A week ago I tried the new Logitech MouseMan with AutoScroll ($50). This
is a much larger mouse with 4 buttons (3 buttons on top w/ thumb button on
side). The AutoScroll on this mouse is a software feature, not an actual
wheel on top - this proved awkward for me. In addition the thumb button
didn't seem to be designed well - found I was accidently triggering it too
often. It did work fine in Generic Cadd as a three button mouse,
configured as the mouse described above.

Returned the MouseMan and traded it in for the MouseMan+ ($60). This is
the mouse you asked about. I like this mouse. It also is a large mouse
and fits my hand well. Like the First Mouse+, it has a true wheel on top
and it works great in Win95 & Generic Cadd (Mouseware v7.5). The thumb
button seems to be placed better (maybe it's smaller) - no problem & quite
handy in Win95. In GC I still have it configured as a 3 button Logitech
mouse (as above) - haven't had time to experiment with other configurations
in order to try take advantage of the 4th button in GC. My MouseMan+ has
a slick finish, where my First Mouse+ has a matte finish. I really prefer
the matte finish, but................

If you decide to try this mouse, and get the 4 buttons working in GC let me
know how. I will let you know if I have any luck. Ideally I would love to
have the thumb button assigned as the "Enter" key while working under GC.

In Generic Cadd, four buttons or not, do you know how to assign the "Enter"
key (i.e. Return key) to either a function key or mouse button? I've
always wanted to be able to do this. Have tried everything I could think
of with no success. Do you know how? (don't remember how but I did it
with my 4 button digitizer puck. NHB)
