PenDrafter is a single keystroke per command 2D CAD software program derived from VersaCAD 8.1.
VersaCAD had over 100,000 users at its peak and still has over 5000 active users.
PenDrafter runs on any DOS computer with at least 2MB RAM, a mouse and VGA or VESA SuperVGA graphics. It runs on desktops, laptops and even pen computers which are outfitted with
PenDOS, a product of IBM.

PenDrafter includes a DXF translator which is compatible with AutoCAD through release 12. It also includes an offline plotting module which can be installed on a separate computer.

PenDrafter key features are:

PenDrafter is best suited for people who learned on VersaCAD at one of the 5000 schools where it has been taught or for DOS savvy engineers who want a good DOS based, 2D CAD package that is solid and runs quickly on all sizes of computers. It is suitable for mechanical, architectural, civil and general purpose drafting.

PenDrafter runs fine on Windows 3.1.1 and on Windows 95 by using full screen DOS window and turning off all screen savers. It does not run at all on Windows NT. PenDrafter runs best on DOS 6 or later. List price is $495 US.
